Job Description:

The Institute for Child Health Policy (ICHP) at the University of Florida is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to coordinate various data and research activities for a large, state-wide external quality review project (Texas EQRO). This individual will coordinate the day to day management of research project operations, assist in the production of written reports of studies, and assist in the coordination of data verification and analysis. This position is also responsible for conducting scientific literature searches using relevant databases and other sources.



+ Day-to-day coordination of research project operations. Facilitating and coordinating the collection of data, including telephone surveys and other assessment instruments. Assisting in working with and monitoring the progress of work conducted by external vendors (e.g., survey, mailing, and graphic and web design vendors). Monitoring of project timelines and communication with faculty and staff, sponsors, community partners, and other external constituencies as needed.


+ Assisting in the production of written reports of studies that include sound methodology, comprehensive literature review, organization based on a conceptual framework, and innovative design components and that meet the guidelines and standards of both the University of Florida and project stakeholders. Coordinating the submission of statistical analysis forms to the Statistical Analysis team and the provision of quality checks of reports produced for the project.


+ Assisting in the coordination of data analysis, including dataset/database management, quality assurance for data collection, transformation, and results, data coding and macro development, as well as basic data analysis, synthesis, and interpretation.


+ Searching scientific literature using relevant databases and other sources; maintaining bibliographical citation data; preparing written summaries of literature.


+ Coordination of weekly senior research leadership meetings, consolidating research questions and providing technical summaries for faculty.




Advertised Salary:

$48,000 - $55,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience.



Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.



Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social/Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, Health Services Research, or related fields. Experience in health outcomes/health services research, especially project coordination and management. Basic knowledge of statistics.


Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Attention to detail, particularly with regard to data accuracy and integrity. Strong computer skills (MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Working knowledge of data analysis software (e.g., SAS, SPSS or STATA). Ability to interpret basic statistical results.


Ability to travel for project meetings
